New doorknobs, and drawerknobs are always a good idea, and when combined with a new ceiling fan or halogen lighting can update the dreariest of kitchens and baths.
One of our most recent projects is a lovely little mansion that has seen better days. The black appliances (although new) along with the antique brass drawer pulls from the 1980s really dated the kitchen. So, off came the knobs, and out came the spray paint. The client painted 87 knobs black!
Instead of a dreary beige kitchen, we now have a rock 'em/sock 'em black and white kitchen!
The finishing touch was when we painted the accent wall black..........looks great!

I love changing knobs and pulls, as you can see the transformation instantly and will update a kitchen or bath quickly... and some or really not all that expensive

Aren't knobs and pulls great. I can spend hours looking at them. Some are so cool and some are so expensive! You can get wonderful ones for not a lot of money though and they sure can update a kitchen or piece of furniture.
A great way to update the kitchen.. its something I always suggest ... and what an impact it has... a simple thing to do that reap many rewards.

Hi Cathy, I love knobs as well. I work with one agent that absolutely insists that I suggest to the client to change out the kitchen hardward if it is at all dated. It really updates a kitchen quickly. Even Walmart sells updated hardward in 10 packs very inexpensively now. NO excuse not to do it.

My daughter took my old dressers and nightstands to use in her baby's room. She painted them black to match the crib and purchased brushed nickel knobs. She also got jungle animal knobs to accent. Adorable.
